The Restoration Process
How It Works
Simply fill out our contact form and send us a photo of your deck. A member of our team will reach out to you with a detailed quote with our recommended course of action.
The surface of your deck must be thoroughly cleaned in order for the stain to penetrate the wood. This includes removing dirt, mildew, algae, and any existing stain.
For the power washing phase, all the crew will require is a working tap and access to the deck. We will take care of the rest!
Any necessary sanding will take place directly prior to deck staining, with all of the dust removed from the deck. For optimal results, we give almost every deck at least a light sanding. The main exception is for new decks.
Decks with existing stain will require a more heavy sand, as the cleaning phase alone will not remove all of the stain.
Our deck specialists will apply a semi transparent, oil-based stain (taking special care around edges, grass, etc.). The stain has a built-in sealer, protecting your deck from mould, mildew, sun damage, and rotting.
Once the staining is complete, we perform one last quality check. This is to ensure we have no missed spots and you are are happy with the final product! We recommend waiting 24-48 hours before using the deck for optimal results.
